How does the recruiting process work?

If you’re interested in auditioning for Samsara, you will need to fill out the following Interest Form: https://goo.gl/forms/9tYtzWUlq9YmfrNM2. Once we have received your form response, we will email you instructions on how to submit two short audition videos, which are due by July 15th. We will inform you of our decision by July 22nd and the official 2018/2019 roster will be announced on August 1st.

 

What's the time commitment for team members?

Each team member is required to commit to one weekend in the fall (“Fall Dance Weekend”) to meet up and learn choreography and one weekend in the spring for the performance weekend. Some choreography videos will be sent out ahead of performance weekend, and we expect team members to be familiar with the choreography before the fall dance weekend, to make the weekend more efficient

 

How does the team learn choreography?

 

Part of the choreography (the intro and finale) will be sent ahead of the Fall Dance Weekend through video, and we expect team members to familiarize themselves with the steps. The rest of the choreography will be created, learned, and perfected at the Fall Dance Weekend.

 

How many performances will the team do this season? Do we know performance dates?

 

For budgeting and time management purposes, we are committing to one performance in the spring as an entire team. We do not know the performance date yet, since performance applications for next spring are not available yet.

What are the dues? What does this cover?

 

Dues for the 2018-2019 season are $50.

  • Costume usage and maintenance (you do not get to keep the costume)

  • Non-Profit Filing Fees

• Dues Do Not Cover (we expect our members to pay for this out of pocket):

  • Flight to Fall Dance Weekend

  • Split Hotel/AirBnB cost for Fall Dance Weekend

  • Flight to Performance Weekend

  • Split Hotel/AirBnB cost for Performance Weekend

  • Team Shirt (you get to keep this)

  • Black Leotard (you get to keep this, and if you already have one you do not need to purchase a new one)
